Camp Blodgett has year-round volunteer opportunities for you in a variety of areas based on your availability, skills, and interests! Below are examples of potential volunteer projects we may have available during the year.

PROPERTY & FACILITIES
Our Property at Camp Blodgett provides the largest variety of volunteer opportunities, ranging from weeding and painting, to organizing and power washing. Most tasks require little to no skills to be completed. Click the link below to see our volunteer opportunities at our Camp Blodgett property. Some of these tasks include but are not limited to:
- Clean out vans
- Clean windows sills and screens in all cabins
- Completely tear off roof on laundry*
- Paint Meeting Hall interior
- Power wash canoes*
- Stain ramps in the meeting hall and arts and crafts
OFFICE/ADMIN
Our office provides mail processing throughout the year—letters, newsletters, and postcards. We need volunteers skilled in accuracy and detail to assist us with processing our mail.
EVENTS
We host events year-round at Camp Blodgett to provide a welcoming environment to our community. Our goal is to raise awareness about Camp Blodgett and raise money for our Annual Fund. The following lists upcoming events where we will need volunteers:
- Summer Concerts
(June 20, July 13 & August 3) - For The Kids Soiree
(September 18)
SUMMER CAMP
Summer Programs at Camp Blodgett provides a large variety of volunteer opportunities. We look for folks who can present day workshops to our campers, perform or lead evening activities, and/or lead us to other beneficial resources. Volunteers for summer camp can also include assistance at peak times at camp. Some examples include but are not limited to:
- Check-in and check-out
- Kitchen duty*
- Pool maintenance/lifeguard/
Aquatic Observer (AO) - Support staff at Camp Blodgett*
- Tie-dye
Workshops/sports activity facilitation
STEM ACADEMY
Our STEM Academy Program at Camp Blodgett provides kids from 5th-8th grade the opportunity to learn about STEM while also enjoying the traditional camp experience! Volunteering may consist of helping STEM Teachers and Assistants with classroom set-up, assisting kids with STEM curriculum/projects, and much more!
TEEN PROGRAMS
Our Teen Programming at Camp Blodgett is split into 4 different categories:

BOARD & BOARD COMMITTEES

Board Committees:
- Property Committee - supports the implementation of our property plans and ensures our land and its assets are well cared for and supported by the West Michigan community.
- Finance Committee - ensures the financial health of Camp Blodgett through oversight, sharing of financial expertise, and stewardship of our assets and endowments.
- Engagement Committee - works with staff and board members to implement community engagement efforts that result in engaged volunteers, donors, and constituents.
- Board Development Committee - cultivates a high-performance Board of Directors that is curated to sustain Camp Blodgett’s impact on the community.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the nature of our work with children and teens, we require a volunteer application and background check be completed and cleared for every volunteer that assists with projects involving youth or takes place while our campers are in our care.
