Day Camps
Day Camps at Camp Blodgett provide an opportunity for staff and campers to connect, learn something new, and have fun during the school year! In true Camp Blodgett style, Day Camp sessions empower campers to learn important social-emotional learning skills and provide opportunities for critical thinking, problem-solving, and socializing with friends - new and old.
Day Camp registration is limited to current campers and enrollment is by invitation only. Events are held in regional areas throughout Kent & Ottawa Counties during the school year, typically on Saturdays. Day Camps typically occur each fall, winter and spring. Camper families should keep an eye out for news and information to arrive in the mail or via email. |
STEM Squad After-school
Our afterschool STEM (Science - Technology - Engineering - Math) Squads take place during the Loop program at GRPS and during the ARCH program at Kentwood Public Schools. During this program, a select group of 5th - 8th grade students participate in hands-on science, technology and engineering activities led by STEM Greenhouse, based on middle school Next Generation Science Standards. Students also participate in math skill building exercises and activities related to life skills and career exploration that are important for the development of the youths' whole selves. Enrollment for this program is limited to youth participating in afterschool programs at select schools.
STEM Squad Saturdays
On Saturdays, the STEM (Science - Technology - Engineering - Math) Squad is heading to communities around Kent County to provide any 5th - 8th grade youth in the community with the opportunity for STEM learning and fun! During STEM Squad Saturdays, youth are lead by staff of Camp Blodgett to participate in hands-on Science, Technology and Engineering activities, gain access to self-directed math skill building and participate in life skills and career exploration activities, as well as have opportunities to build relationships with other middle school youth.
