Friday, June 20 • WHORLED • Loeks Retreat Center Deck

Three musicians performing on stage: a girl playing a violin, a man playing an acoustic guitar, and a woman playing an accordion.

Described by Local Spins as “a road trip for the ears,” the Whorled trio transports their audiences around the globe with a fresh blend of re-imagined Celtic, bluegrass, French Café, and jazz influences.  Whorled is fiddler Keala Venema, guitarist and digeridooist Thom Jayne, and accordionist Mariko Venema.  They met by chance in 2019 at a traditional Irish session and the magic was immediate.

Their first performance scheduled for February 2020 was cancelled as the COVID period began, and so they created their own signature fusion style for two years in relative obscurity. Now in their fourth year playing in public, Whorled has gained immediate critical acclaim in Michigan’s music scene, winning two Jammie Awards for their 2023 debut album, "Reimagined", and having three tunes landing on WYCE's top 100 spins of 2023.

Sunday, July 13 • Matt Gabriel • Loeks Retreat Center Deck

Matt Gabriel is a Singer/Songwriter who has spent over a decade writing and touring. His latest record "Earth Tones" is a thoughtful blend of Pop and Americana. Listening feels like a road trip that starts at the California coastline and ends in the hills of North Carolina.

Warm, honest, and welcoming, It invites you to ride shotgun across all the great American genres.

The image is split into two sections. The left side features a woman with long dark hair, wearing a black hat, a red jacket, and black clothing, sitting on a white surface. She is smiling and holding her hat. The right side shows a woman with long brown hair, sitting outdoors in front of tall grass, playing an acoustic guitar and smiling. There is a logo at the top center with the text "Camp Blodgett Summer Concerts." At the bottom, there is text that reads "Sunday, Aug. 3rd Shelby Lentz w/Sydney Law."
A man with a beard leaning against a brick wall in an urban alleyway, wearing a tan jacket and blue jeans, with outdoor string lights overhead and a building with windows behind him.

Sunday, August 3 • Shelby Lentz • Loeks Retreat Center Deck

Shelby Lentz is a petite powerhouse whose captivating voice has propelled her from local talent to national acclaim.

Beginning her musical journey at a young age, Shelby's talent was evident as she belted out the National Anthem at just eleven, setting the stage for a remarkable career. From opening for industry giants like Frankie Ballard, Matt Girraud, and Montgomery Gentry, Shelby's performances transcend boundaries.

Shelby is a Nashville recording artist and in 2023 released her debut album "Teenage Diary," blending pop/rock with emotionally charged lyrics, while her nonprofit "Champions for HD" showcases her commitment to supporting Huntington's Disease families and research.
